What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)?
MCP is an open standard, introduced by Anthropic in November 2024, that lets AI assistants connect to tools and data through a common interface. Our MCP guide explains it in plain English.
Which MCP servers should a small business start with?
Use official servers for systems you already use: Zapier MCP, Stripe, GitHub, Notion, Xero or QuickBooks. Directories such as Smithery and Awesome MCP Servers list many more.
Is it safe to connect AI agents to my business tools?
It can be with care: prefer official servers, grant the narrowest scopes, start read-only, require confirmation for actions that send, pay or delete, and be careful with untrusted content because of prompt injection.
What are Claude Agent Skills (SKILL.md)?
Skills are folders of instructions and resources (a SKILL.md file) that an agent loads when relevant. Anthropic publishes examples in its Agent Skills repository, and Awesome Claude Skills curates community skills.
